Whil;e its a great way to make some money, its also not that easy and can turn out to be quite as hard or even harder than you imagined. I would like to introduce you to some of the Ugly Truths of Blogging that I’ve experienced in my life as a blogger.

Bitten By Google’s Pets Panda/Penguin

One of the biggest things that will bring you down or will be an obstacle for you in the frequent update that Google releases. These updates even though are good for researchers. There are quite a lot more than just quality content. You constantly need to keep your self updated with what Google does and it plans on doing in the near future. Google is the largest search engine today and everyone depends on it to find information. Once you get bitten it does take a while to recover from a Google update wby which time you would have lost considerable amount of time, effort, money and more. These are things that are often not shared by bloggers in their paid courses or projects that they sell to help you become a better blogger.

Banned From Search

There is a decent chance that you can get banned from Google search results. This can be because you have put up something that does not meet the Google requirements and or some one feels that you are distributing illegal or copyrighted material. Even though you can reapply to Google asking them to un-ban you the chancs are low that you will be added back to search results. This bringing an end to your blogging efforts. This can almost happen to any blogger out there.

Rejected From Google AdSense

Once you start blogging and have started to work on monetizing your blog the first thing every blogger would advice is to get to Google AdSense. This is one of the best ways to make Good money online. We extensively use Google AdSense on all our blogs and it been a good source of Income for us. While many bloggers can get rejected the first time around, they are eventually accepted into Google AdSense. There are a lot of monetization programs on the world wide web that you can try, but I am quite sure that you will not come across any such as good as Google AdSense.

You Need  To Know To Write, Write Well

as a blogger the basic requirement it to be able to write and write well and what people want from it.If you are a fair writer its not enough. Because people want the best when it comes to information, if you content or your writing style is poor the chances are that people wont read your post much. Blogger often tell you that you can learn while you, Yes, I did learn as I began blogger, I’ve been blogging for over 5 years and its taken me a long time to improve my writing skills and yet I feel I have so much to learn.

Marketing and Networking play a very big Role

Writing an awesome blog post alone wont get people to read it, because they don’t know that you have written it. So in order for people to know of your work and for you to become popular in the blogosphere, you will need to know marketing and also how to network with other bloggers in the industry. This is one of the best way that you can get your content to reach millions of readers. There are way more aspects to blogging than just writing content and writing well. You also need to know how to market and network with others in the same niche.

Blogging In 2012 Takes Time To Work

Bloggers often do not see success within the first year, it does take time to work and it does pay off. But then again, do not get fooled by the get rich soon schemes. I’ve made decent money in the first year of blogging, until I realized it was nothing compared to the number of hours of work and or effort that I’ve put into my work. I was not earning enough for the work I had done. You need to have the patience wo wait for your blogg to become successful.l most of the bloggers really see success when they reach 100000 thoustand traffic mark or making about 1000 dolalars a month.

Time Consuming

It does take time to write, to market, to network and to blog. Alot of blogger think that it all can be done within a few hours time. Yes, thats ture youc an do it for a few hours a day but notat the initial stanges of your blog, you need to wput it enough effort in the beginn such that you dont have to work so nmuch later.

If your not into Writing Or Marketing, then its Boring

It doe sbeocme boring after a while, if you are a blogger who is not facinated about writing or marketing, then this can get really boring. When i started off, I used to write about technial writing. Its quite a boring topic to write about and it was not very interesting for me. I wrote about it only because I was working as a technical writer at that time. However later IO stopped writing and I no longer write for the blog. I shfted focus on what I wanted to write about and how I write, now blogging is much more fun. As a matter of fract I’am focugin my attention from blogging to become an enterpruneure. I am building a product for bloggers like you and me, to make bloggint eay and fun.

Now that you have an idea of some of the ugly truth about blogging in 2012, what are you going to do? Do thes thigns stop you from becomg a blogger? or you going  defy all odds and prove yourself to be a better blogger. Eitherway, share your commenmts in the comment section.

  1. Great article, but I think it’s missing one point. Blogging is becoming very competitive. Writing simple tips and tricks is no longer enough to make your content efforts successful. A lot of people are finally starting to blog, and that means a lot of others posting on the same topics.

Even if you truly do make great points in an article we need to spend the time to make sure that a piece of content really is successful. Engaging with others in social media creating infographs etc can all help make sure our content works.

  2. Spell checking is worth it, too. I thought I was reading a spam post when I go toward the second to last paragraph.

  3. Hi Eddie,
I agree 100% with what you mention here. There are so many people in the Internet world who claim to be bloggers and make huge amount of money. I am not convinced at all and sometimes I wonder myself if there are really some people who make money for true. I know the answer is yes but as you mention it takes time, it is hard and it won’t be a one night success story as many bloggers promise.
    Thank you for sharing.
