Over the past few days I have been actively posting threads and comments on online forums like Warrior, Digital Point and WickedFire. Your social sharing numbers can get a jolt of life when a social media thought leader shares your content. They can even crash your servers!
But how do you get their attention and stand out from the crowd? There are thousands of threads and posts created by the thousands of people on Internet Marketing forums and popular blogs. You have to build a relationship with them in order to get your content shared by them on Facebook or Twitter. After all… People love being recognized for their dedication and hard work.
These are some tips on how to gain attention of these influencers:
- Ego-Baiting
- Forum Marketing
- Interviews
- Always link to them
My favourite personally is Ego-Baiting, it’s a simple and fast way to get traffic to your blog if you get lucky and do it correctly. Ego-Baiting is basically writing a top list of great bloggers in your particular niche, and when your readers and fans come to your site to read your content, they’ll have a strong impression on which blogs they must check out. Be sure to add some links to your top list! For example, I wrote a top list on my blog titled “Top 5 Online Business Bloggers That Will Make You Rich”
This article got the approval of Pat Flynn, author of SmartPassiveIncome.com , and readers of his blog will visit his Facebook page and click on the backlink to my site, increasing overall blog traffic. There are also other strategies like Forum Marketing, on online forums – My favourites are Warrior, Digital Point and Wickedfire. If you look around the Internet, you would probably notice many people posting hyperlinks to their websites on YouTube videos which would irritate us so often with spam on the video’s comments. In a real world example, spamming somebody’s e-mail inbox with flood mails of links to their website just isn’t going to cut it. Spam would just make people annoyed and drastically reduces the chance of them visiting your site. However, if you read an interesting article and you see someone post a sophisticated comment with professionalism, you would take their advice as you trust them more.
For example, Alexa Smith, a regular and respected poster on the Warrior Forums. She provides solutions to countless peoples’ problems every single day and has a renown reputation among the Warriors! If she posts a link to her blog or writes a good comment on a site, chances are that hundreds of people will visit the site! Interviewing Alexa Smith or Pat Flynn will most likely bring a ton of visitors to your site as they will tweet or post messages on Facebook approving your work to attract larger audiences.
Increasing the number of shares your content gets across the Social Web is literally a numbers game – The survival of the fittest. A game that these tips will help you play and win.
When you start winning that game a number of things will happen…you’ll get more traffic, more attention and higher rankings in the search engines…which will be a nice reward for all of your hard work. Follow these strategies, and over time you’ll win.
