Taking Brian Clark’s advice and getting into email marketing

Are you into email marketing? Do you have a list? I certainly don’t.

Yesterday, I was reading this article at copyblogger about the lazy marketers best friend. It really got me wondered if I needed a list after all. So I asked, why he felt I needed a list.

Brian responded saying

“Eddie, given the topic of your site, you’re going to have a really hard time making money with ads. Give it a shot, but you may find you’ll make much more with email marketing and affiliate offers until you can develop your own products and services.”

After reading this, I left my blog has more potential and I can definitely make it a business. Taking Brian’s advice, I’ve decided to build my own product and put it up for sale.

If you are a blogger reading this, I am repeating myself. Are you maintaining a list?

Are you into email marketing? If your not, I suggest you take Brian’s advise and get on it right away. You can also learn about email marketing here.

Soon, I will be launching a newsletter to build a list and provide quality products and services to bloggers around the world.

Thanks for reading, Brian, has yet again thought me something wonderful.

  1. I was wondering why you weren’t building a list. I learned that a long time ago. Of course you want to offer them something really good for free and then continue to give them valuable information. Then and only then when you believe you have come across something you think worthy of their time and money, you promote that to your list. I don’t promote a lot of things to my list because I don’t want to be one of those pushy people always trying to sell them something. So when I do recommend a product, they are more interested in reviewing it because I don’t overly sell to them. That’s how you make it work for you.

Can’t wait to see what kind of product you’ll be creating. Good luck with that my friend. I have no doubt you’ll do very well.

    • Believe me or not. I have no clue, but I am confident that I will do well. Working on some cool stuff already. I will reveal it here once its ready. Thanks for your comments and suggestions Adrienne. May be you can share some tips with me.

  2. Hey Eddie – Left you a reply at my site, but in case you don’t receive it, wanted to let you know about this:

I just found a plugin today to change the footer copyright attribution. If you have Genesis 1.6, use Simple Hooks – http://www.studiopress.com/plugins/simple-hooks

If you have a later version, use Genesis Footer – http://www.wpchildthemes.com/

Love your site design by the way. :) Ha ha!

You can definitely make a business around an SEO blog. So many people are looking for SEO services and are confused about it.

I have an autoresponder series set up. I’m going to re-evaluate it and write more on the topic soon.

    • Gabrielle, thanks so much for stopping by. Thanks for your tips. I’ve installed the plugin already and you should soon see a change in the footer links and others as well. Also I am taking your advice and setting up an SEO service for bloggers. I hope the service becomes a success. Hope to see you here often.
