Overcoming Common SEO Problems (Do’s and Don’t)

Most bloggers face difficulties with SEO and some don’t due to their area of specialization. For the ones who have trouble with SEO here are some quick do’s and don’t that you will find helpful with your SEO work.

DO’s….

  • Use 301 redirects for moved pages
  • Optimize titles and meta-data for non-html files (.pdf, .doc, .xls and more)
  • Have valid HTML
  • Use custom 404 errors for missing pages 

DON’t…

  • Allow broken links
  • Make content only accessible through forms or other elements that require human action
  • Use images, Flash, or JavaScript to display important text
