Blogging Life Or Living Life-Keeping Your Priorities In Check

Whether you blog for money or blog for fun, there comes a time when it may take over your life. If you’re always sitting in front of the computer writing blogs, posting blogs or interacting with others who read your blog, you may be neglecting other important aspects of your life, such as your family, friends and even work. The following are a few ways to help keep your priorities in check.

1. Become Organized

If you become more organized, you will realize that you have more time in the day than you realize. For example, try to dedicate a certain amount of time per day to blogging, but try to keep the timing consistent on a daily basis. For example, if you decide to work on your blog for two hours a day, then schedule a time slot for two hours every day. This way, you will get in the habit of blogging during that time, your family will also become used to your routine, and your blog readers will also notice your daily habits and know that you will have a new post up within a certain time frame every day.
You should also implement a calendar. Sometimes the hardest part about blogging is thinking of topics to write about. If you create a calendar, you can become more organized in what to write about each week. But you don’t have to feel obligated to stick to your calendar religiously. If a great idea pops in your head and it would be great to write about now, then do so, and use your other topics for another day.
By becoming more organized and dedicated a certain time frame per day to blogging, you will be able to spend more time with your friends and family or participating in hobbies or events that interest you.

2. Take A Weekly Break

Now that you have a schedule and a calendar in place, it is important to also take a day off each week. This will help keep you from being overworked and overwhelmed, and it will also allow you to give your full attention to your friends, family and other aspects of your life without needing to blog.
Try to stick with the same day each week. This way, your family will know that they have your full attention on that day each week, and you can plan mini vacations or fun family events on this day.
Taking this break will also reduce your stress levels, which will help improve your health. If you are constantly worrying about your blog or stressing out about topics, it can have a negative effect on your health. Taking a step away from the computer every now and then is extremely beneficial for both your social life and your health.

3. "Hire" Some Help

If you blog for fun, it may seem a bit strange to hire somebody to help you, but hiring help doesn’t mean that you have to pay a fortune. Look for college students in the area looking for an internship, and give them the opportunity to help with your blog in exchange for your consent to giving them internship credits. Most college students will take internships for free, and since today’s younger generation knows a thing or two about technology, you can be pretty positive they know how to work their way around a blog. Plus, you can assign them a few posts per week to relieve you of having to do it all yourself.
You could also try to find guest bloggers. These are other bloggers who write on your same topic. These bloggers will typically write a guest post for you in exchange for a link back to their blog. Implementing guest bloggers at least once per week can also save you time and allow you to get back to your real life.
Blogging doesn’t have to take over your whole world, and you need to remember to spend quality time with your friends and family. Giving yourself a break every now and then will be extremely beneficial for you, your family and your overall health.
