From Blogging To Business

A 27 year old blogger with a love for technology, I learned to blog out of curiosity. It all happened when a friend of mine asked me, about a certain forum. Forum, sounded alien to me then.

Soon, I began exploring the web to understand Forums and their uses. Before you knew it I had my very own free wordpress.com blog. Even though my objectives were not very clear about blogging then, I was soon found wandering the web looking for more information about blogging and what they can do for me.

During the end of 2007, I started my very own dot com, after reading hundreds of posts from ProBlogger.net and Copyblogger.com my primary source of education as a blogger.

Fast forwarding to present, I own a SEO service portal (GenuineSEO), an app blog (TheAppTimes), a personal branding blog (EddieGear.com) and a few more projects in pipeline.

Four years into blogging, I realized that virtually everything about my blog mattered to make it a success. Everything from the design, the content, the traffic and even the code made a difference.

Initial blogging disasters provided that I need to make a difference to give my blogging business a professional look. I realized the primary issue was because I was blogging with free designs, and content that everyone talked about, the code was crappy and the traffic was low.

Self realization, I decided to get a refresher course on blogging and learned about blogging from scratch. This time I was determined to make my business provide me a promising income. Switched to professional WP themes, rock solid hosting, quality and unique content and the traffic would stop flowing in.
